Movement Magic is a welcoming and inclusive class designed to engage kids with diverse perspectives and backgrounds. With guidance the students will create a supportive community environment where they are respected and comfortable embodying and sharing their own dance expression, as well as taking risks to try new movement and theater techniques.

Through the class, students will gain mind/body awareness and practice making conscious choreographic decisions with their movements. They will try different processes and work with their own ideas to create sharable dance and theatre art work. They will also gain confidence and collaboration skills.
Classes will be structured with a circle check-in, playful warm up, introduction to new skill/challenge, practice, and a group share. At the end of the first 7 weeks, students will give a casual presentation of their work-in-progress to families. On December 8th, students will present again for families and the Mt. Sequoyah community.
Clapp Hall is not ADA accessible. If your child is interested and unable to participate for this reason, please let us know for future planning.
