Mark Stuart is an artist/musician with twenty countries of touring to his credit. Having made albums of self-written songs, being lead guitarist for notable hit makers (Freddy Fender, Steve Earle, Joan Baez, Steve Forbert), forming a duo with his wife artist (Stacey Earle), his resume is impressive. Rock, blues, folk, country and more are his specialty, not to mention his skill as a storyteller onstage. Stuart found his way into studios, theaters, festivals, clubs, coffeehouses, house concerts. His journey included being on MTV, The Tonight Show, PBS, BBC radio slots, TV appearances in Spain and Canada. Founding members of Creedence Clearwater Revival tried to hire him as vocalist for their newer band. As a native from Nashville, Tennessee the musically diverse artist was introduced to world-class musicians at an early age. His father had a bar band that worked every weekend year round in the Nashville environment, and Stuart was in the line-up from age 15 through 18. Later, Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers Band) and Dave Rawlings (Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings Machine) did stints in Stuart’s bar bands, settling in as SECOND guitarist behind the frontman! Even now, Mark Stuart has an alt-ego act that he jokingly calls “the human jukebox”, taking gigs where he performs some 600 or more classic rock, blues, folk and country songs. He prides in using no music stand, I-pad, or “cheat notes”. It is quite a feat to see such a performance in this technological age.
